Uzbekistan and Pakistan Discuss Further Development of Cooperation in the Pharmaceutical Sector
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 9 November, Abdulla Azizov, Director of the Agency for the Development of the Pharmaceutical Industry of Uzbekistan, held a meeting with a delegation from Pakistan led by Sardar Yasir Ilyas Khan, the National Coordinator for Tourism under the Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
The Pakistani delegation included representatives from leading pharmaceutical companies, including Al-Jadeed Pharma, Akhsah Pharmaceuticals, Unisa Pharmaceutical, Caraway Pharmaceuticals, Pearl Pharmaceuticals, Clinix Pharmacy, Davis Pharmaceutical, and Remington Pharmaceutical.
During the discussions, the parties explored new avenues for cooperation in the pharmaceutical industry, the implementation of investment projects, the exchange of best practices in the production of medicines and medical devices, as well as opportunities for establishing joint manufacturing facilities.
The Pakistani delegation received a detailed overview of the conditions created in Uzbekistan to support the development of the pharmaceutical sector, including the Tashkent Pharma Park pharmaceutical cluster, tax and customs incentives for investors, systemic regulatory reforms, and a favorable business environment.
As a result of the meeting, both sides agreed to engage in practical cooperation in the pharmaceutical sphere, enhance the exchange of expertise and information, and conduct regular reciprocal visits to further strengthen the partnership.
