Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 9 July, in the format of a video link, negotiations were held between Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sardor Umurzakov and Adviser to the Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan on issues of commerce and investment Abdul Razzaq Dawood.
The agenda of the talks included further steps to deepen trade, economic and investment cooperation, as well as issues of preparation for a number of bilateral events outlined in the framework of the International Conference “Central and South Asia: Regional Interconnectedness. Challenges and Opportunities”.
It was noted that Pakistan attaches great importance to the further development of multifaceted cooperation with Uzbekistan and sees significant opportunities for enhancing interaction in priority areas.
The high interest of the Pakistani business community in doing business in Uzbekistan was also emphasized, in connection with which a large delegation of Pakistani entrepreneurs, industrialists and representatives of the banking sector will arrive in the country during the conference to discuss opportunities for cooperation with potential partners from Uzbekistan.
The parties expressed their mutual readiness to assist in organizing direct meetings of counterparties to establish direct contacts and achieve concrete results, bearing in mind firm agreements on the implementation of investment projects and trade contracts.
As a result of the negotiations, an agreement was reached to unite efforts to develop proposals for increasing cooperation in the areas of trade, investment, transport, energy, implementation of specific projects and cooperation programs, expanding interaction in the field of education, health care, tourism, science and culture in order to fill the agenda of upcoming events practical content.
