Uzbekistan and OSCE Discuss Expanding Media Cooperation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 11 November 2025, Uzbekistan’s Deputy Foreign Minister Muzaffar Madrahimov met with OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media Jan Bratu.

The sides noted that Uzbekistan’s cooperation with the OSCE and its institutions, particularly the Office of the Representative on Freedom of the Media, has reached a qualitatively new level in recent years.

During the talks, prospects for further expanding collaboration in areas of mutual interest were discussed. Both parties confirmed their intention to implement joint projects, including initiatives to enhance media literacy, develop professional skills for journalists, and train press secretaries of government agencies.

To achieve these goals, plans include organizing training sessions and educational courses with participation from international specialists and experts.

As part of his visit, Jan Bratu will participate in the 25th Central Asian Media Conference, titled “Ensuring Media Viability for an Informed and Resilient Society,” which will be held on 13–14 November in Tashkent.
