Uzbekistan and Oman Discuss Investments in Pharmaceutical Industry and Development of Tashkent Pharma Park

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Abdulla Azizov, Director of the Agency for the Development of the Pharmaceutical Industry of Uzbekistan, held a meeting with representatives of the Uzbek-Omani Investment Company.

The parties discussed prospects for investment in the pharmaceutical sector, stressing that healthcare is one of the company’s priority areas.

Abdulla Azizov presented the Tashkent Pharma Park pharmaceutical cluster, providing detailed information on the business environment for investors, as well as the incentives and favorable conditions created for doing business in Uzbekistan.

During the talks, the sides reviewed the size of the domestic pharmaceutical market, export and import indicators, opportunities for producing generics and original medicines, workforce training and the education system in the sector, as well as regulatory mechanisms for distributors and support measures for local manufacturers.

As a result of the meeting, the parties agreed to continue information exchange, develop cooperation, and establish regular dialogue for the implementation of joint projects.
