Uzbekistan and Muslim Trade Forum Expand Business Ties

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A working meeting was held in London between Davron Vakhabov, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, and Iqbal Sakrani, Chairman of the Muslim Trade Forum (MTF) UK, aimed at expanding trade and business cooperation. The event followed up on a previously signed memorandum of understanding between the parties.

MTF is one of the UK’s leading business platforms, facilitating networking across industries and supporting companies in accessing international markets, including the UK’s large consumer sector.

During the meeting, both sides discussed expanding business ties, opening new market opportunities, and strengthening direct cooperation between companies from the two countries. Practical agreements were reached, including sending a delegation of UK entrepreneurs to Uzbekistan, organizing business forums and B2B meetings in Tashkent and Samarkand, and collaborating on export orders for local products.

Special attention was given to promoting Uzbekistan’s investment and tourism potential in the UK market, as well as enhancing the country’s international image. MTF participants also expressed strong interest in the Afghan market, which could reinforce Uzbekistan’s role as a regional logistics and trade hub.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both parties confirmed their readiness to bring cooperation to a practical level and expand joint projects in the near future.
