Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Representatives of the Malaysian organization MIMOS Berhad visited the UzElTechSanat Association to discuss the prospects for developing Uzbekistan’s microelectronics and semiconductor industry.

The delegation, led by MIMOS Berhad CEO Razmaan Jaafar, held talks with the chairman of the association, Mirziyod Yunusov. Discussions focused on the next steps in implementing a strategy to establish a modern semiconductor industry in the country.

The parties examined practical mechanisms for executing the strategy, creating a portfolio of targeted projects based on priority areas, and leveraging international experience and advanced technologies.

The Malaysian delegation also proposed establishing fabless and OSAT companies in Uzbekistan, drawing on Malaysia’s successful models. Participants analyzed the possibilities for phased implementation of these approaches.

During the visit, the delegation toured the Eltechlab laboratory within the association, which demonstrates testing processes for cable-conductor products and household appliances.

Earlier this week, a Strategic Workshop Lab was held in Tashkent, dedicated to the development of microelectronics and semiconductors. The delegation’s visit continued these discussions, marking a shift from strategic planning to practical project implementation.
