Uzbekistan and Malaysia Discuss Cooperation in Pharmaceuticals
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 5 November, 2025, Abdulla Azizov, Director of the Agency for the Development of the Pharmaceutical Industry of Uzbekistan, held a working meeting with a Malaysian delegation, which included representatives of the country’s regulatory authority as well as executives and specialists from six leading medical device companies.
During the talks, both sides discussed prospects for bilateral cooperation, expanding interaction in pharmaceuticals and medical equipment manufacturing. The Malaysian side expressed interest in investing in Uzbekistan’s pharmaceutical and medical production, as well as in the potential export of Uzbek products to the Malaysian market.
Special attention was given to diversifying export markets, harmonizing quality standards, and simplifying licensing procedures.
Abdulla Azizov presented the delegation with an overview of Uzbekistan’s pharmaceutical sector achievements, including the development of pharmaceutical clusters, scientific and innovative projects, attracting foreign investments, and supporting local production.
Following the meeting, the guests visited the “Tashkent Pharma Park” pharmaceutical cluster to familiarize themselves with production infrastructure, scientific laboratories, and investor facilities.
The meeting was held in a businesslike and friendly atmosphere, and the parties identified new directions for practical cooperation in the near future.
