Uzbekistan and LuLu Group Discuss Expanding Food Exports to the Middle East
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A delegation of the Ministry of Agriculture of Uzbekistan, together with the country’s Embassy in Kuwait, held a meeting with representatives of the international company LuLu Group, which operates across markets in the Middle East, Asia, and Europe.
The parties discussed opportunities for exporting Uzbek products, including packaged foods, fresh and dried fruits, and other food items, with particular emphasis on product quality and environmental sustainability.
LuLu Group’s management highly praised the products presented and expressed interest in including them in the company’s retail networks, opening prospects for expanded cooperation. To further elaborate specific projects, the Ministry’s delegation has been invited to the company’s headquarters in Abu Dhabi on 17 December.
As part of the Uzbek Food Festival held on 14–15 December, 23 tonnes of Uzbek raisins were exported for the first time to the Kuwaiti company Jameel International Company.
In addition, a new export contract was signed between Sunny Land Products from the Tashkent region and the Kuwaiti importer Alraya Albayda Trading Co., under which eight types of freeze-dried fruits were supplied to Kuwait.
These initiatives demonstrate the growing international demand for Uzbek products and open new opportunities for long-term cooperation with major foreign retail chains.
