Uzbekistan and Lithuania Discuss Cooperation in Trade and IT
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Alisher Shaykhov, Advisor to the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, met with Taumaris Valis, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania.
During the discussions, the parties explored prospects for further development of bilateral cooperation in trade, investment, and innovation.
Alisher Shaykhov emphasized the importance of leveraging GSP+ preferences, EU technical support programs, and implementing joint projects in education and innovative technologies. He proposed expanding collaboration in agriculture, information technology, cybersecurity, logistics, and e-commerce, highlighting Lithuania’s experience in developing startups and the venture ecosystem as a valuable model for Uzbekistan.
Taumaris Valis expressed readiness to deepen practical cooperation with Uzbekistan and stressed the need to strengthen business ties between the chambers of commerce of both countries.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides confirmed their intention to jointly implement projects in startups, innovation, logistics, and digital technologies, while reaffirming mutual interest in further developing business and investment relations.
