Uzbekistan and Latvia Discuss Women’s Participation in IT and Cybersecurity
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Representatives of the Ministry of Digital Technologies and the Presidential Administration of Uzbekistan held a meeting with a delegation from the Embassy of Latvia.
The parties discussed prospects for cooperation within the framework of the European Union initiatives “Women Leadership in Public ICT Sector” and the new “Digital for Development” program.
The dialogue focused on expanding women’s participation in the information and communication technology sector, developing their leadership potential, and promoting gender equality in the field of cybersecurity.
The meeting also addressed the involvement of women in digital policy and legislative processes, the expansion of mentoring and professional development programs, and the creation of opportunities for training and experience exchange for young professionals.
Both sides agreed to align Uzbekistan’s digital development and gender equality strategies with EU projects through joint initiatives and to continue systematic cooperation in these areas.
