Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 12 December 2025, the city of Ferghana hosted the seventh meeting of the Military Council of the Border Troops of the National Security Service (NSS) of Uzbekistan and the Border Service of the State Committee for National Security (SCNS) of the Kyrgyz Republic, chaired by the heads of the border agencies of both countries.

The meeting took place in a constructive and friendly atmosphere, confirming the parties’ intention to continue strengthening cooperation in protecting the state border and ensuring regional security.

During the session, participants discussed current operational activities, reviewed the results of joint measures undertaken over the past period, and outlined prospects for expanding cooperation at interagency, regional, and local levels.

Special attention was given to coordinating actions of units along specific border sections, exchanging operational information, and enhancing the efficiency of joint operations.

The sides noted positive progress in implementing joint plans to maintain stability in border areas, combat cross-border crime, prevent the illegal trafficking of narcotics and weapons, and manage border infrastructure.

Following the meeting, a protocol was signed to record the agreements reached, coordinated measures, and priority directions of cooperation for the upcoming period.

At the conclusion, both parties reaffirmed their commitment to the course set by the Presidents of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan: maintaining peace and calm along the jointly protected state border, and addressing emerging issues in the spirit of neighborliness, trust, and constructive collaboration.
