Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan Agree to Expand Cooperation in the Agricultural Sector
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On the sidelines of the Second United Nations Food Systems Summit (UNFSS+4), the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Ibrokhim Abdurakhmonov, held talks with Samat Nasritdinov, Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Water Resources and Processing Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The parties discussed strengthening bilateral cooperation in the agricultural sector, placing particular emphasis on the development of potato cultivation.
They also explored prospects for importing livestock products from Kyrgyzstan to Uzbekistan. Notably, the Kyrgyz side expressed readiness to provide practical support in the logistics and transportation of livestock imported from Mongolia to Uzbekistan.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides reaffirmed the importance of implementing the “Friendship Garden” initiative as a symbol of good-neighborly relations between the two countries and agreed to carry out the related work according to the agreed schedule.
