Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 9 April 2026, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Olimjon Abdullaev, held a meeting with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea, Lim Sang-woo. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the "5+1" format meeting of deputy foreign ministers in Seoul.

During the negotiations, the parties discussed issues of bilateral interaction through consular and legal channels, including cooperation in the field of migration. Particular attention was paid to developing direct contacts between the consular offices of the two countries and organizing the next round of regular consular consultations.

The sides also exchanged views on measures to counter illegal migration and confirmed their mutual interest in further expanding practical cooperation.

Following the meeting, an agreement was reached to continue a constructive dialogue and develop interaction across the identified areas of cooperation.
