Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A meeting was held in Tashkent between Ulugbek Khusainov, Director of the Agency for Improving Governance Efficiency under the President of Uzbekistan, and Shin Myung Seop, Director of the Korean International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) in Uzbekistan.

The discussions focused on Uzbekistan’s ongoing reforms aimed at enhancing public administration efficiency, implementing results-based management systems, and promoting regional development. Special attention was given to international cooperation, including the exchange of institutional experience, technology, and expertise from KOICA, as well as prospects for mutually beneficial practical collaboration.

Several key areas of cooperation were identified. These include organizing short-term specialized courses and internships in South Korea for rural activists, municipal employees, and engineers under the “Rural Development Academy.”

The dialogue also addressed implementing transport management using big data analysis and adopting Seoul’s TOPIS (Transport Operation and Information Service) model to reduce traffic congestion in Samarkand.

Another priority is establishing a regional cybercrime detection center based at the Academy of Law Enforcement Agencies of Uzbekistan, integrating training programs with Korean technologies and models, including the expertise of KNPA and KISA.

Additionally, specialized training sessions are planned for district hokims in Samarkand and Namangan regions on using artificial intelligence tools and IoT technologies in municipal governance.

Following the meeting, KOICA and the Agency for Improving Governance Efficiency signed an agreement to implement a joint project aimed at strengthening the capacity of public servants and developing professional competencies in Uzbekistan.
