Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan Strengthen Strategic Partnership
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 31 March, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received Kazakh Foreign Minister Yermek Kosherbayev, who arrived in the country on an official visit.
During the meeting, Minister Kosherbayev conveyed the sincere greetings and best wishes of Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
The leaders discussed key areas for further strengthening Uzbek-Kazakh relations, emphasizing friendship, strategic partnership, and alliance. They noted that contacts at the level of parliaments, governments, regional administrations, and business communities are developing effectively, while the joint Intergovernmental Commission continues to operate productively.
The meeting highlighted steady growth in bilateral trade and the expansion of cooperation in industry, energy, transport, environmental protection, and water management. Particular attention was given to accelerating economic projects, developing collaboration in rare metals, and increasing tourist flows between the countries.
The parties also explored prospects for expanding humanitarian exchange programs, including initiatives in space and the creative economy. The discussion emphasized the importance of careful preparation for upcoming bilateral and multilateral events and included an exchange of views on international and regional policy issues.
The meeting underscored the strategic direction of Uzbek-Kazakh relations and reaffirmed both countries’ commitment to deepening cooperation across all key sectors.
