Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) —As part of the visit of a Kazakh parliamentary delegation to Uzbekistan, the Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, Tanzila Narbaeva, held a meeting with the Chairperson of the Senate of the Parliament of Kazakhstan, Maulen Ashimbaev.

During the negotiations, the parties discussed a wide range of issues concerning the further deepening of inter-parliamentary interaction, as well as key areas of bilateral cooperation in the political, economic, and humanitarian spheres. It was emphasized that thanks to the consistent policies of the leaders of both states, relations between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan have reached the level of strategic partnership and alliance.

Special attention was paid to cultural and humanitarian cooperation, based on shared historical roots, spiritual values, and traditions of good neighborliness. In this context, the significance of holding the Second Forum of Scientific and Creative Intelligentsia of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan was noted as an important platform for dialogue between representatives of science and creative circles from both countries.

The parties also highlighted the activation of inter-parliamentary interaction in multilateral formats, including participation in inter-regional initiatives. The hosting of the first "Central Asia – European Union" inter-parliamentary forum in Samarkand was cited as a prime example.

During the meeting, cooperation within the framework of the Dialogue of Women Leaders of Central Asian Countries was reviewed. It was noted that Uzbekistan is chairing this platform this year and plans to hold a regular meeting in Bukhara, as well as the second Asian Women's Forum.

Furthermore, it was announced that the 12th Global Forum of Young Parliamentarians will take place in Samarkand in September of this year. Following the meeting, the parties confirmed their mutual interest in further strengthening allied relations, expanding inter-parliamentary dialogue, and implementing joint initiatives.
