Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Following productive talks, the Presidents of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, signed a Joint Statement summarizing the agreements reached and outlining the priorities for further strategic partnership.

During the meeting, the heads of state approved decisions of the Supreme Interstate Council to establish bilateral working groups in key areas, including geology, extraction of rare and rare-earth metals, forecasting of transboundary river water flows, and the creation of a Council of Regional Leaders of both countries.

As part of the visit, a broad package of bilateral documents was signed to deepen cooperation across multiple sectors. These included an agreement on the joint management and rational use of transboundary water resources, a treaty on opening customs service offices, an agreement on coordinating radio frequencies in border zones used by civil terrestrial radio services, and an agreement on conducting joint military exercises.

Additionally, a framework agreement was signed to establish a joint investment platform, a plan of joint actions for tourism cooperation for 2026–2027, a program for interaction between the ministries of justice for 2025–2026, and memorandums on the development of the mining industry, youth policy cooperation, and specialized medical assistance.

Particular attention was paid to strengthening collaboration in healthcare and insurance, formalized through memorandums of understanding between the medical insurance funds and ministries of health of the two countries. Cooperation agreements were also signed between the Tashkent city administration and the Astana city administration, as well as between the joint-stock companies Uzbekneftegaz and KazMunayGas, creating a platform for comprehensive economic and infrastructure partnership.

The collection of these agreements reflects a high level of mutual trust and opens new opportunities for expanding strategic cooperation in Central Asia.
