Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan Plan FIFA Central Asian Cup and Specialist Exchange
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Today, the First Vice-President of the Uzbekistan Football Association, Ravshan Irmatov, met with the President of the Football Federation of Kazakhstan, Marat Omarov.
The meeting focused on expanding cooperation between the football organizations of both countries, exchanging expertise, and jointly implementing regional projects.
The Uzbekistan Football Association presented information on ongoing reforms in the national football system, new infrastructure projects, the development of football academies, training programs for coaches and medical staff, and initiatives including the organization of a tournament among Turkic states at the initiative of the head of state, as well as the opening of the National Football Center.
Ravshan Irmatov emphasized that in recent years, football management in Uzbekistan has become more systematic, with transparency introduced through the activities of the Referees Academy, training programs for young referees, and the launch of a centralized VAR system at the National Football Center.
German specialists have been engaged in medical centers, and 14 regional football academies now operate under a unified methodology with full digitalization of the football sector. Discussions also covered new football infrastructure and the proposed FIFA Central Asian Cup.
The Kazakh side shared information on reforms in its football system, modernization of infrastructure, and expansion of private clubs. Four clubs have undergone privatization, and new football fields and arena complexes are under construction nationwide with support from FIFA and the Football Federation of Kazakhstan. Plans were also announced for the opening of an “Atlético Madrid” academy, expansion of sponsorship systems, and systematic development of young players.
Both sides highlighted successful collaboration with UEFA and FIFA and agreed to increase the number of friendly matches, provide specialist training, and implement new joint projects.
The meeting concluded with an agreement to further strengthen friendly and partnership ties between the football associations of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.
