Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan Justice Ministers Discuss Strengthening Cooperation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan’s Minister of Justice Akbar Tashkulov met in Baku with Kazakhstan’s Minister of Justice Erlan Sarsembayev on the sidelines of the Council of Justice Ministers of Turkic States.

The talks focused on expanding bilateral legal cooperation, sharing expertise, and developing joint projects.

Both sides emphasized that Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan are connected by a shared history, cultural heritage, and strong ties of friendship, with regular high-level contacts in recent years giving new momentum to strategic partnership.

During the meeting, the ministers discussed progress achieved and prospective areas of collaboration, including intellectual property protection, legal education and personnel training, judicial expertise, archival work, and scientific cooperation.

Following the discussions, a new cooperation program for 2026–2027 was signed, providing for expanded exchange of experience and implementation of joint initiatives between the justice ministries of the two countries.
