Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan Expand Cooperation in the Agricultural Sector

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Today, the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Ibrohim Abdurakhmonov, held a meeting with Erbol Taszhurekov, Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, on the sidelines of a meeting of Central Asian agriculture ministers in Tashkent.

During the discussion, particular attention was paid to further development of bilateral cooperation, analysis of the current state of joint projects, and their expansion.

The parties identified mutually beneficial areas in the agricultural sector and discussed in detail issues related to the production of meat and dairy products, poultry farming, horticulture, processing industries, and improvement of logistics systems.

The need to strengthen cooperation mechanisms in increasing import and export volumes, improving product quality, and standardization was also emphasized.

Proposals were put forward to exchange experience between research institutions of the two countries, implement innovative technologies in animal husbandry, and enhance collaboration in workforce training and professional development.

The parties stressed the importance of elevating Uzbekistan-Kazakhstan cooperation in the agricultural sector to a new level, effectively utilizing existing opportunities, and jointly ensuring regional food security.
