Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan held regular consultations between the apparatuses of the security councils of the two countries. Consultations were held in Tashkent. This was reported by the press service of the President of Kazakhstan.

Secretary of the Security Council under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Viktor Mahmudov and Assistant to the President - Secretary of the Security Council of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nurlan Yermekbayev took part in the consultations.

The parties discussed topical issues of regional security and bilateral cooperation.

The current state and prospects for development of the situation in Central Asia were discussed, taking into account the situation in Afghanistan, further activation and expansion of cooperation in the military-technical and military spheres.

Representatives of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan discussed cooperation in countering illegal migration, customs control, improving security in civil aviation.

Also, the parties considered the preliminary results of the implementation of the Roadmap for reconstruction and modernization of checkpoints, highways and the construction of the adjacent territory on the Kazakh-Uzbek state border.

Based on the results of the work, specific instructions have been given to the relevant state bodies of the two countries.
