Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan Discuss Expanding Trade and Investment Toward $10 Billion Goal by 2030
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 30 January 2026, the Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Laziz Kudratov, met with Beybut Atamkulov, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan.
During the meeting, the sides discussed the current state and prospects for trade, economic, investment, and transport cooperation.
They noted the stable positive development of bilateral trade and reaffirmed their commitment to further increasing the volume of mutual trade under the Joint Program aimed at reaching US$10 billion by 2030.
By the end of 2025, the trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan amounted to US$4.97 billion, up 11.4% compared to the previous year. Exports reached US$1.55 billion, showing a 1.2% increase, while imports totaled US$3.4 billion, growing by 16.6%.
Special attention was given to preparations in 2026 for the first meeting of the Council of Heads of Regions of the two countries, as well as the organization of “Made in Uzbekistan” and “Made in Kazakhstan” industrial exhibitions.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides confirmed their mutual interest in further deepening strategic partnership, expanding investment cooperation, and continuing regular constructive dialogue.
