Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan have expressed their intention to expand cooperation in the agricultural sector.

The agreements were reached during a meeting between Ibrokhim Abdurakhmonov, Minister of Agriculture of Uzbekistan, and Yermek Kenjehanuly, Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Kazakhstan, held within the framework of the international forum “Italy – Central Asia (C5) + Azerbaijan” in Tashkent.

During the discussions, the parties considered prospects for mutually beneficial agricultural development, taking into account ecological and climate challenges. Proposals were made for new areas of cooperation focused on sustainable development of the agrarian sector.

Special attention was given to the processing of grains, legumes, and oilseeds, as well as the expansion of meat and dairy production. According to participants, these measures will promote deeper integration, strengthen food security, and enhance the export potential of both countries.

The parties emphasized that the agreements reached provide additional momentum to the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan and establish a foundation for long-term cooperation in agriculture.
