Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — As part of the 30th Tashkent International Tourism Fair “Silk Road Tourism,” a meeting was held with the Chairman of the Tourism Industry Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Nurtas Karipbaev.
The talks reaffirmed the high level of strategic partnership and the shared commitment of both countries to deepening regional integration in the tourism sector.
The parties discussed key areas for further cooperation, including the development of joint cross-border routes along the “Great Silk Road” and the promotion of cultural clusters such as Samarkand–Turkistan–Almaty.
Special attention was given to digitalization in the sector — the introduction of modern IT solutions, analytical platforms, and marketing tools. The sides also considered opportunities for implementing joint educational programs and enhancing the professional skills of tour guides, hospitality specialists, and other tourism industry personnel.
Additional discussions focused on measures to increase mutual tourist flows and to promote Central Asian countries as a single tourism macro-region in global markets, including Europe. This topic was central at the “CA–EU” Tourism Forum.
Following the meeting, both sides confirmed their intention to strengthen practical cooperation and advance new initiatives aimed at reinforcing the partnership and expanding opportunities for the tourism industries of the two countries.
