Uzbekistan and Jordan Discuss Expansion of Cooperation in Education and Science

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A meeting took place in Jordan’s capital between Bahromjon A’loev, First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and Shadi Al-Masadeh, First Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Director of the Higher Education Council of Jordan.

The negotiations focused on the implementation of the provisions of the “Roadmap” signed following King Abdullah II ibn Al-Hussein’s state visit to Uzbekistan in August.

Both sides paid particular attention to prospects for cooperation in education and science. Initiatives under consideration included the development of student and faculty exchanges between universities of the two countries, the launch of joint research projects, and the expansion of academic collaboration.

The participants emphasized their readiness to continue strengthening bilateral ties and to elevate cooperation in the field of education to a qualitatively new level.

The meeting also involved Davronbek Maksudov, First Deputy Chairman of the Committee for Religious Affairs of Uzbekistan, and Muhammadalim Muhammadsidikov, Deputy Chairman of the Administration of Muslims of Uzbekistan.
