Uzbekistan and Jordan Agree on Cooperation in Uranium, Copper and Rare Metals
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — From 16 to 22 September 2025, a delegation from Uzbekistan headed by Deputy Minister of Mining Industry and Geology Rustam Yusupov paid a working visit to Amman, the capital of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
The delegation included representatives of Navoiuran, Uzbek KCM JSC, and Uzbek Overseas Geology Company LLC.
During meetings with the leadership of Jordan’s Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, the sides discussed prospects for joint projects, effective organization of geological exploration works, and further areas of cooperation.
As part of the visit, a “roadmap” and a memorandum of mutual cooperation in copper, rare metals, and other industrial minerals were signed with Jordanian company NAMC.
In addition, a working group composed of experts from JUMCO and Navoiuran conducted a field visit to prospective uranium sites for on-the-ground assessment. Following the visit, a joint working group was established with the participation of ministries of both countries as well as NAMC and JUMCO.
The delegations also obtained preliminary geological data on prospective deposits of uranium, critical, and non-ferrous metals, reaching an agreement to carry out more in-depth studies.
