Uzbekistan and Japan Agree to Expand Cooperation in Digital Technologies
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan’s Minister of Digital Technologies, Sherzod Shermatov, held a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan, Hirata Kenji, during which the parties discussed prospects for bilateral cooperation in digital technologies, telecommunications, education, and artificial intelligence.
During the talks, the minister noted the growing popularity of foreign language learning in Uzbekistan and the increasing demand for the Japanese language. He also discussed opportunities to attract Japanese volunteers and companies to remote and fast-developing regions of the country.
Particular attention was paid to creating favorable conditions for Japanese companies in IT Park, including low business operating costs and support from local authorities in employing young specialists.
The sides also discussed the construction of data centers, modernization of telecommunications infrastructure, increasing internet speed and stability, as well as the export of artificial intelligence services. Ambassador Hirata Kenji подчеркнул the importance of the meeting ahead of the C5+Japan Summit and noted the growing interest of Japanese companies in Uzbekistan.
Following the talks, the parties reaffirmed their readiness to deepen mutually beneficial cooperation in digital technologies, telecommunications, artificial intelligence, education, and innovation.
