Uzbekistan and Israel consider prospects for expanding economic cooperation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 31 July 2019, the Ambassador of Uzbekistan Said Rustamov held talks with the Director General of the Ministry of Economy and Industry of the State of Israel Shay Rinsky and the Director of the Foreign Trade Administration Ohad Cohen.

The meeting discussed issues of trade, economic and investment cooperation between Uzbekistan and Israel, the prospects for further expansion of partnerships in various fields - from agriculture to high technology, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan reports.

The parties noted that against the background of large-scale processes of economic liberalization in Uzbekistan, Israeli business circles show a growing interest in entering the Uzbek market, which, in particular, was demonstrated by bilateral agribusiness forums held in May this year in Tashkent and Bukhara.

An agreement was reached on enhancing interagency cooperation, including in terms of conducting mutual visits, as well as organizing bilateral events, especially the first meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Investment, Scientific and Technical Cooperation.
