Uzbekistan and IsDB Discuss Expanding Cooperation in Infrastructure and Rural Projects
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 24 July, a meeting took place between a delegation led by Ali Khan Mohammadi, Regional Director of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB), and Ilkhomjon Umurzakov, Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The discussions were also attended by Alibek Kazangapov, Project Management Specialist at IsDB’s Regional Center in Almaty, IsDB Representative in Uzbekistan Khusan Khasanov, and other key officials.
The two sides reviewed opportunities to further develop mutually beneficial cooperation, implement joint projects, and improve their effectiveness. Special attention was given to support for transport and road infrastructure development, comprehensive and sustainable rural development, and the expansion of socially significant and economically viable projects.
In particular, they reviewed progress on joint projects with IsDB such as Sustainable Rural Development, Integrated Rural Development, and Strengthening Economic Resilience of SMEs (SERVE).
Following the meeting, both sides agreed to enhance their collaboration, maintain systematic and responsive joint efforts to achieve their goals, and expand regular exchanges of views and expertise.
