Uzbekistan and Iraq Agree to Develop Trade Relations
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — During an official visit of the Uzbek delegation to Baghdad, a meeting was held with Iraq’s Deputy Minister of Trade for Economic Affairs, Hassan Hamid.
The event was attended by Uzbekistan’s Deputy Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade, Shokhrukh Gulamov, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Davron Vakhabov, and Uzbekistan’s Ambassador to Iraq, Ayubkhon Yunusov.
During the negotiations, the parties discussed simplifying logistics and customs procedures for entering the Iraqi market, reducing tariff and non-tariff barriers, and harmonizing standardization and certification requirements.
The sides agreed on active participation of Uzbek entrepreneurs in the 49th session of the International Exhibition in Baghdad, scheduled to take place from February 1 to 7.
Participation in the exhibition will create opportunities for signing new contracts, implementing joint projects, and accessing new markets for Uzbek companies.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides agreed to continue regular dialogue aimed at developing trade relations, creating favorable conditions for business, and achieving practical results.
