Uzbekistan and Iran Strengthen Cooperation in Tourism

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On the sidelines of the 26th General Assembly of the UN World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) in Riyadh, Umid Shadiev, Chairman of the Committee for Tourism of Uzbekistan, met with Said Reza Amiri, Minister of Cultural Heritage, Tourism, and Handicrafts of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

During the talks, the parties discussed measures to increase mutual tourist flows, develop new areas of cooperation, and jointly promote the cultural heritage of the Great Silk Road in the international tourism market.

As a result of the meeting, a memorandum of cooperation was signed, aimed at strengthening strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Iran in tourism, exchanging experience in workforce training, developing joint routes, and organizing cultural events.

The agreement is expected to provide an additional impetus for expanding tourism ties and promoting the rich historical heritage of both countries on the global stage.
