Uzbekistan and Iran sign agreement on transit discounts for commodities

Uzbekistan Temir Yollari and Iran Railways inked the agreement on discount for transit of commodities, Fars News agency reported quoting Mohsen Pour-Seyed Aqaii, the managing director of IRIR.

Pour-Seyed Aqaii said according to the agreement, discount is allocated to the goods that Iran transports via Uzbekistan and those that Uzbekistan transports via Iran.

Iran participated as a supervisory member in the meeting of the Council of the Commonwealth Independent States (CIS)’s railway administrations, which was held in the Uzbek capital city of Tashkent from 4 to 5 November.

The Iranian delegation held some meetings with officials of Uzbekistan such as the chairman of Iran-Uzbekistan Joint Economic Commission to boost transit of goods via Iran and Uzbekistan and Uzbekistan Railways.
