Uzbekistan and Iran Discuss Investment in the Mining Sector

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 23 December, officials from the Ministry of Mining and Geology of Uzbekistan held a meeting with a delegation from the Iranian international engineering company IRITEC, which is visiting the country from 21 to 25 December.

The Uzbek side was represented by First Deputy Minister F. Hamidova, Minister’s Advisor B. Normatov, and other responsible officials. The Iranian delegation included the Trade Counselor of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

During the meeting, the IRITEC delegation was briefed on the ongoing reforms in Uzbekistan’s mining and geological sectors.

The parties also discussed opportunities for attracting investments and developing cooperation in the mining industry.

The talks reaffirmed mutual interest in strengthening business ties and creating conditions for the sustainable development of the sector.
