Uzbekistan and Iran Discuss Investment and Technological Cooperation
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 17 December, Tashkent hosted a Uzbekistan–Iran business forum and a series of B2B meetings as part of the visit of a delegation led by the governor of Iran's Mazandaran province, Mahdi Yunusi Rustami.
The event brought together more than 70 leading Iranian companies, over 100 local entrepreneurs, as well as representatives of ministries and agencies from both countries, who presented their advanced initiatives and proposals across various sectors.
Opening the forum, welcoming remarks were delivered by Alisher Shaykhov, Advisor to the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan; Mahdi Yunusi Rustami, Governor of Mazandaran; Mohammadali Iskandari, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Iran; and Abdulla Mukhojir, Board Member of Iran’s Chamber of Commerce, Mining, and Agriculture.
Participants discussed strengthening trade and economic cooperation, implementing joint investment projects, and developing technological collaboration.
During the forum, B2B meetings were held between companies from both countries. As a result of the negotiations, agreements were reached on a number of promising projects, opening new opportunities for joint business and investment.
