Uzbekistan and Iran Discuss Expansion of Trade, Economic, and Investment Cooperation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A delegation from Uzbekistan, led by Ambassador Fariddin Nasriyev and Chairman of the Uzbekipaksanoat Association Ikrom Saifullaev, held a meeting with Soman Nazari, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce, Mining, and Agriculture of Iran’s Gilan Province, as well as representatives of the region’s leading business circles, reports IA “Dunyo.”

The meeting, held in the city of Rasht as part of the Uzbek delegation’s visit, focused on prospects for expanding cooperation between Uzbekistan and Iran in trade, economic, investment, and tourism sectors.

The Uzbek side presented the country’s recent achievements and ongoing reforms, along with opportunities for foreign entrepreneurs and potential investors.

Special attention was given to Gilan Province, one of Iran’s leading agricultural centers, renowned for its sericulture research institute. Discussions also covered the organization of reciprocal business delegations to further strengthen bilateral cooperation.

It should be recalled that on 21 September, the Uzbek delegation headed by Ikrom Saifullaev arrived in Iran on an official visit.
