Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 6 October 2025, Abdulla Azizov, Director of the Agency for the Development of the Pharmaceutical Industry of Uzbekistan, met with Smita Pant, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India to Uzbekistan, to discuss ways to expand bilateral cooperation.

During the talks, both sides focused on attracting foreign investment to Uzbekistan, highlighting existing state support measures for investors, including tax and customs incentives, conditions for establishing production facilities, and provision of land plots and necessary infrastructure.

Educational cooperation was another key topic. The discussion covered student exchanges, joint educational programs, and scholarships or grants for young specialists, emphasizing that developing scientific potential and harmonizing educational standards are crucial for strengthening bilateral ties.

The meeting also addressed collaboration in traditional medicine and medicinal plants, exploring opportunities for Indian companies to participate in projects for cultivating and processing medicinal crops in Uzbekistan, leveraging the expertise of both countries.

Participants noted that long-term cooperation in biotechnology, scientific research, and technology transfer would enhance economic relations, foster innovation, and expand overall partnership between Uzbekistan and India.
