Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 9 June 2025, a meeting was held between Akhadbek Khaydarov, Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and a delegation led by Mr. Shafik Hebous, Deputy Division Chief of the Fiscal Affairs Department at the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

The meeting was attended by IMF fiscal experts, as well as specialists from the Department of Tax and Customs Policy and Revenue Forecasting under Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Economy and Finance.

The parties discussed the positive developments in Uzbekistan’s tax policy in recent years and their impact on the national economy.

IMF experts presented a set of recommendations aimed at enhancing tax administration, ensuring equal conditions for taxpayers, and supporting the implementation of more effective fiscal reforms in the years ahead.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides agreed to strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation, continue the implementation of ongoing reforms, and intensify regular consultations with the IMF to support the evolution of Uzbekistan’s fiscal policy framework.
