Uzbekistan and IFPRI Discuss Cooperation in Agricultural Policy

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On the sidelines of the Central Asia–U.S. leaders summit in the S5+1 format, Uzbekistan’s Minister of Agriculture Ibrokhim Abdurakhmonov met with Suresh Babu, Executive Director of the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI).

During the meeting, held in a warm and friendly atmosphere, the parties discussed prospects for expanding cooperation in food security and agricultural policy.

Special attention was given to implementing joint research programs, exchanging expertise in agricultural market analysis, and organizing seminars and training sessions aimed at developing sustainable agricultural policies under changing climate conditions.

Following the talks, both sides emphasized that strengthening scientific collaboration, exchanging specialists, and enhancing international experience sharing are key factors for the continued development of Uzbekistan’s agricultural sector.
