Uzbekistan and ICBA Take Agricultural and Scientific Cooperation to a New Level

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A delegation from the Ministry of Agriculture of Uzbekistan visited the headquarters of the International Center for Biosaline Agriculture (ICBA) in Dubai, UAE.

During the visit, an official meeting was held with ICBA Director General Dr. Tarifa Alzaabi and the center’s scientific staff.

The negotiations were conducted at a high level and were constructive in nature. The parties discussed ongoing joint projects, the expansion of scientific and practical cooperation, and promising areas for future collaboration.

During the meeting, a new generation biotechnological product designed to combat soil salinization and land degradation was presented and received high praise from ICBA specialists.

An agreement was reached to conduct soil analysis in the regions of the Aral Basin and to develop adapted bioproducts.

Special attention was given to the implementation of two new projects in the Khorezm region and the Fergana Valley, with potential funding from local and international funds and donors.

The prospects for shrimp and other seafood cultivation under Uzbek conditions were also discussed.

As a result of the meeting, it was decided to send ten Uzbek specialists for training at ICBA headquarters in Dubai. During the training, they will study the Integrated Agri-Aquaculture System (IAAS) and spirulina cultivation technologies, enabling the introduction of advanced agricultural and aquaculture practices in the country.
