Uzbekistan and Hungary Strengthen Cooperation in Law Enforcement Training

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — An official delegation from Uzbekistan, led by Minister of Internal Affairs Aziz Toshpulatov, has visited the International Law Enforcement Academy (ILEA) in Budapest, Hungary, according to the Dunyo news agency.

During the visit, the Uzbek delegation was introduced to the academy’s core areas of activity, its contributions to international law enforcement cooperation, and the educational programs implemented with support from the U.S. government and the U.S. Embassy in Hungary.

Established in 1995 under an intergovernmental agreement between the United States and Hungary, ILEA serves as a training and professional exchange platform for law enforcement personnel from various countries. Its programs cover a wide range of subjects, including tactical training, combating organized crime, cybersecurity, anti-corruption measures, and financial crime investigation.

ILEA is part of a global network of law enforcement academies and applies advanced training methods tailored to regional contexts. Uzbekistan is already participating in ILEA’s programs and, according to officials, plans to expand its engagement, particularly in the area of cybercrime prevention.

Both sides expressed readiness to deepen bilateral cooperation through joint training sessions, seminars, and the exchange of delegations to further enhance the professional capacity of Uzbek law enforcement personnel.
