Uzbekistan and GGGI discuss development of “green economy” projects
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 14 August 2025, a meeting was held between representatives of the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) and Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan Umid Abidkhodjaev.
The Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) is an international organization that was granted the status of an international institute by the UN General Assembly in 2012, with its headquarters in Seoul. Its main goal is to promote “green economy” development, sustainable growth, and low-carbon growth in member countries. GGGI operates in more than 40 member and partner countries.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the current status of “green financing” projects being implemented jointly with GGGI, the results achieved so far, and prospects for further cooperation.
The meeting also addressed opportunities for developing and implementing new projects within joint initiatives, continuing effective collaboration, and expanding projects aimed at supporting sustainable development and the “green economy” in Uzbekistan.
As a result of the talks, both sides agreed to strengthen cooperation and carry out effective, systematic work to achieve their goals.
