Uzbekistan and Georgia Step Up Trade and Economic Cooperation
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 23 July 2025, a meeting took place in Tashkent between Laziz Kudratov, Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and Mariam Kvrivishvili, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia.
During the talks, the parties discussed current issues of bilateral cooperation and outlined priority areas for further collaboration in trade, transport connectivity, logistics, investment, and interregional partnership.
It was noted that over the past five years, trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Georgia has increased 3.5 times. In 2024 alone, the growth rate reached nearly 50%. Particular attention was given to expanding industrial cooperation — especially in the textile, fruit and vegetable processing, pharmaceutical, and several other sectors.
To ensure the practical implementation of the agreements reached, a Joint Working Group has been established under the two ministries, comprising relevant experts from both sides.
