Uzbekistan and France Strengthen Scientific Cooperation in Agriculture

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Minister of Agriculture of Uzbekistan, Ibrokhim Abdurakhmonov, held a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France, Walid Fouque, as well as leading researchers from the French International Center for Agronomic Research for Development (CIRAD), M. Giban and M. Serri.

During the talks, the parties discussed ways to expand bilateral scientific cooperation and strengthen practical ties in priority areas of the agricultural sector.

They exchanged experiences on improving the efficiency of scientific research, implementing innovative technologies, and applying best practices in promising areas of agriculture.

Special attention was given to ongoing collaborative projects between Uzbekistan and France, the creation of joint experimental sites, the development of innovative solutions, and the training of highly qualified specialists.

French experts highly appreciated the agricultural reforms undertaken in Uzbekistan and confirmed CIRAD’s readiness to actively participate in joint initiatives.

As a result of the meeting, an agreement was reached to expand the scale of joint projects and to give new momentum to Uzbek-French agricultural cooperation in the coming years.
