Uzbekistan and France Expand Partnership in Museum Affairs and Cultural Projects

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Gayane Umerova, Chairperson of the Culture and Arts Development Foundation, met with the newly appointed Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of France to Uzbekistan, Walid Fouque.

During the discussion, the parties explored prospective projects in the fields of culture and museum management. Topics included the organization of joint exhibitions, the holding of an international museum conference in Samarkand with participation from the French Ministry of Culture within the framework of the UNESCO General Assembly, as well as the development of cooperation with France Museums.

Special attention was given to tourism, the creative economy, and the preservation of cultural heritage.

Initiatives were also considered to attract French luxury brands, hotel chains, and restaurants to Uzbekistan with support from the Comité Colbert.

Additionally, the visit of restorer Anne Liegey was discussed, which will provide training opportunities for Uzbek specialists in restoration techniques.
