Uzbekistan and France discuss expansion of bilateral relations
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan and France held the seventh meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission for Trade and Economic Cooperation in Paris.
According to the Dunyo agency, more than 50 representatives of official, business and expert circles of the two countries took part in the meeting. The delegation of Uzbekistan was headed by Deputy Prime Minister Sukhrob Kholmuradov, the French side was represented by Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian.
During the meeting, the prospects of further expanding the bilateral agenda and deepening practical cooperation, primarily in the trade, economic and investment spheres were discussed in detail.
In his speech, the French Foreign Minister noted that the development of cooperation with Uzbekistan, which has now embarked on the path of radical reforms and modernization, has been given special attention.
Jean-Yves Le Drian expressed his full support for Tashkent’s regional policy for ensuring peace and stability in Central Asia, including efforts to stabilize the situation in Afghanistan.
