Uzbekistan and France Discuss Expanding Strategic Partnership and Investment Projects
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Minister of Investments, Industry, and Trade of Uzbekistan, Laziz Kudratov, held a meeting with Walid Foucq, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the French Republic to Uzbekistan.
During the discussion, the current state and prospects for further strengthening Uzbek-French cooperation were reviewed, including the implementation of joint investment projects, the development of trade and economic ties, as well as expanded collaboration in energy, industry, transport, and tourism.
From January to August 2025, the trade turnover between Uzbekistan and France reached US$991.2 million, representing an 18.5% increase compared to the same period last year. This growth was driven by intensified cooperation in mechanical engineering, chemical, textile, and pharmaceutical industries, as well as the expanded supply of modern equipment and technologies from French companies for industrial projects in Uzbekistan.
Special attention was given to the effective implementation of approved “roadmaps” and the practical realization of agreements reached during high-level visits.
Laziz Kudratov emphasized that Uzbekistan attaches great importance to strengthening its strategic partnership with France and is interested in further expanding mutually beneficial cooperation, including within the framework of the upcoming meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission and the joint business forum.
