Uzbekistan and France Discuss Expanding Cooperation in Healthcare
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Minister of Health of Uzbekistan, Asilbek Khudayarov, met with a delegation led by Valide Fouc, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to Uzbekistan, and Georges-Fabrice Blum, Special Representative of the French Health Export Services at the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs.
The meeting focused on prospects for expanding bilateral cooperation in the medical sector. The parties discussed elevating relations to a new level, including joint projects in the diagnosis and treatment of oncological diseases using advanced methods, improving emergency medical services, enhancing professional training, and introducing robotic technologies in surgery.
Special attention was given to developing direct links between clinics and hospitals in Uzbekistan and France. Representatives of French companies studied the needs of Uzbekistan’s healthcare system and proposed concrete initiatives for collaboration.
Priority areas include training personnel in oncology, urology, and robotic surgery; improving pediatric care; establishing trauma clinics in tourist centers; applying innovative treatments for osteoporosis; engaging international experts; creating European-standard emergency services in mountainous regions; and ensuring the safety of medicines.
The Minister emphasized Uzbekistan’s interest in studying and implementing France’s healthcare experience, noting the potential for exchanging advanced medical technologies and digital solutions for early diagnosis and effective treatment.
The meeting continued the agreements reached during President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s state visit to France in March this year and the first Uzbekistan–France Medical Forum in Paris.
