Uzbekistan and Finland Sign Comprehensive Cooperation Package

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Following negotiations held in Tashkent, the Presidents of Uzbekistan and Finland, Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Alexander Stubb, signed a Joint Statement outlining the key directions for further bilateral cooperation.

As part of the visit, a ceremony was also held for the signing of a package of bilateral documents covering a wide range of collaborative areas.

The agreements provide for the development of trade and economic relations between the two countries, cooperation in the extraction of mineral resources, as well as in geological sciences, geological exploration, mineral prospecting, groundwater research, and mining.

Particular attention is given to promoting digital transformation, implementing innovative technologies, and enhancing digital interconnectivity. The documents also formalize cooperation in social protection, the introduction of a digital educational platform in preschool and school education systems, and the development of science, education, and innovation.

The agreements aim to strengthen scientific and educational capacities in digitalization and water resource management, as well as cooperation on climate change and environmental protection issues.

The signing of this comprehensive package of documents lays the foundation for a multifaceted and strategically oriented partnership between Uzbekistan and Finland.
