Uzbekistan and Finland Discuss Cooperation in the Food Industry

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A meeting took place in Tashkent between Uzbekistan’s Minister of Agriculture, Ibrokhim Abdurakhmonov, and Marianna Tammela, Executive Vice President of the Finnish company Valio, to discuss prospects for collaboration in the food industry.

The parties explored new areas of economic and technological cooperation, including the introduction of modern production practices and advanced technologies in food processing.

Founded in 1905, Valio is the largest food producer and exporter in Finland, with an annual turnover of 2.3 billion euros. Its products, including dairy and plant-based foods, are supplied to over 50 countries worldwide.

During the meeting, detailed discussions focused on applying Valio’s experience in Uzbekistan, expanding trade volumes, implementing joint projects, and organizing knowledge and technology exchanges between specialists from both countries.

Following the talks, the parties confirmed their mutual interest in further strengthening the partnership, sharing expertise, and developing joint initiatives in the food industry.
