Uzbekistan and Egypt Aim to Expand Economic Ties and Digitalize Trade
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Ambassador of Uzbekistan, Mansurbek Kilichev, held a meeting with Egypt’s Minister of Supply and Internal Trade, Dr. Sharif Farouk, Dunyo news agency reports.
During the meeting, both sides emphasized the special attention that the leaders of the two countries are paying to the development of comprehensive cooperation. The Egyptian side highlighted the importance of Uzbekistan’s extensive reforms aimed at supporting entrepreneurs, digitalizing government services, promoting new local producers, and improving the banking and financial system.
Dr. Sharif Farouk stressed that strengthening the domestic trade system, ensuring food security, and maintaining market stability remain strategic priorities for the ministry. Particular focus was placed on joint initiatives to increase trade volumes, develop logistics, and enhance supply systems.
The parties also reviewed Uzbekistan’s digital experience in tracking key commodities, noting that it contributes to greater transparency, more efficient monitoring, and uninterrupted product supply to the population.
The discussions confirmed that expanding economic cooperation, exchanging expertise, and establishing direct contacts between entrepreneurs align with the interests of both countries. At the conclusion of the meeting,
